Scott Krist is The Krist Law Firm, P.C.’s owner and lead trial lawyer. He is a skilled Houston personal injury lawyer with 25 years of experience. He has won some of the largest recoveries in the state of Texas for his clients, and earned numerous honors and awards recognizing his skill as an attorney.

?Obtained the largest commercial trucking verdict in Texas in 2014.

One of Scott C. Krist’s most memorable cases involved a young doctor just about to embark on his career when he got into a car accident on the last day of his residency.

The accident left the young doctor a quadriplegic unable to practice the profession he had spent years training for. Krist was able to obtain a significant recovery for the young doctor that allowed him to retrain as a psychiatrist. He also became the young man’s friend through the course of his case.

The young doctor’s case is emblematic of how Krist approaches every case he takes in his practice as a personal injury lawyer. “I really get very close to my clients. I fight for them like I would one of my friends,” he said.

Krist grew up at the feet of a man considered in Texas one of the greatest lawyers of his generation. His father, Ronald D. Krist, founded The Krist Law Firm, P.C., and tried some of the most noteworthy cases in Texas history. Scott Krist learned the practice of law from his father and eventually went on to take over management of the firm.

Scott Krist built on his father’s legacy and has taken The Krist Law Firm, P.C. to new heights as its current owner and lead trial lawyer. He has won for his clients some of the largest recoveries in the state of Texas, and earned numerous honors and awards recognizing his skill as an attorney.

Among his most noteworthy honors are consistently being named one of the “Best Lawyers in America” each year since 2008, and being named one of the “Top 500 Plaintiff’s Lawyers in America” by Law Dragon Magazine in 2011. Krist was one of only three personal injury lawyers in Houston to receive this honor.

In 25 years of practice, Scott Krist has handled a broad range of cases involving serious personal injuries and wrongful deaths.

In 25 years of practice, Scott Krist has handled a broad range of cases involving serious personal injuries and wrongful deaths. He has handled cases involving oil rig injuries, maritime injuries, petrochemical refinery accidents, commercial trucking accidents, defective products, car accidents, and other types of accidents and injuries.

Krist has a reputation in Texas for sensitive and skilled handling of cases involving mild, moderate, or severe traumatic brain injuries — and for taking cases other lawyers are unwilling to try. One significant case involving a truck accident was rejected by four lawyers, and the injured man was offered just $10,000 to settle before Krist took the case and eventually won a multi-million dollar award.

Krist values his ability to dig into a tough case and fight for the kind of compensation that can restore someone’s life after a catastrophic accident. “It makes one’s life’s work very worthwhile when you can really make an impact on someone’s life,” he said. “I enjoy being able to take on the role of the underdog, the injured — and to represent them when they would otherwise be unable to face off against these large corporations and fight them on an equal basis.”

As an experienced Houston personal injury lawyer and the owner of The Krist Law Firm, P.C., he has worked to find the best talent to represent the firm’s clients. “We’re very unique here in the quality of our associates,” he said. Krist sets the tone for the firm by approaching each case with empathy, intelligence, commitment, and attention to detail. He also has a strong sense of ethics which he brings to each case handled by The Krist Law Firm.

When not dedicating his time to his law practice, Krist enjoys spending time with his family and has a passion for automobiles and collecting cars.
